Kickball - Draft League
This short summer league is all about the captains (not really), but this is the only league where they get to pick their players! That's right, this is NFL Draft style, where the captains will take turns picking players one by one until they each have a team of 11 plus themselves. Don't worry, we only publically announce who the first pick for each team is, and then they finish picking behind close doors so nobody knows who the last pick is. Trust me, I was picked last plenty in elementary school, I wouldn't inflict that kinda pain on anyone else!
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
You must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the draft to play in this league.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
This is our shortened summer league for those kickball enthusiasts who don't want to wait for the fall league to start.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Our practice session for the draft is at Patriarche park, but games are held at East Lansing Softball Complex.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
The only practice we have is the night before the draft for the captains to get to see everyone's skills before making their picks.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
You will play one game a week, except for the championship tournament where if you win your first game, you will play a second.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
We do not provide shirts for this league as it is so short and we don't know what team people are on until the day before.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
None unless you go out with you teammates after the games for food/drinks.

Lansing - Summer
This quick summer draft league to hold you over until the fall session of kickball starts. 48 people only. Everyone signs up solo, and the captains will literally draft their time. alternating picks until each team has 12 people. Think you can captain and draft the team that wins it all? Register to be a captain, but if you are a captain, you have to be an umpire each week. (if more than four people volunteer to be captain, we will draw names to see who gets the honor) The two captains of game 2 will ump game 1 and vice versa each week. This Thursday night league will conclude with a championship game under the lights on August 22nd (the 29th is the rain date). The first game for the tournament starts at 6:30 PM that week since we have to get three games in that night. Wed. July 31st will be an open play/practice night and the captains will observe and draft that night. Only the first pick for each team will be public, after that the captains will draft privately to avoid anyone's feelings getting hurt.
